Literature Around the World is a channel of the Los Angeles Review of Books that explores the itineraries of literature through classrooms and across curricula around the world. LitWorld is a space for sharing reflections about the ways texts travel back and forth across local and national contexts and travel across different scales of history. Our international network of editors, contributors, teachers, and friends are interested in the variety of reasons that Anglophone literary texts show up on reading lists and syllabi around the world; and we’re also interested in expanding our LitWorld community, hearing from those colleagues about literature from their countries that Anglophone readers need to put on their reading lists. We are constructing maps of the movements, displacements, forced migrations, welcome exchanges, surprising finds, and shifting contexts of literary ideas, turns of phrase, currents of emotion and affect, and unexpected routes of reception.
